The Best Lake Superior Beaches in Minnesota

The Best Lake Superior Beaches in Minnesota

Part of the North Shore experience in Minnesota is exploring the shoreline of Lake Superior. My favorite “beaches” or places to access the water are Canal Park, Park Point, Agate Beach in Gooseberry State Park, Iona’s Beach, Pebble Beach in Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, Black Beach, Baptism River in Tettegouche State Park, Crystal Bay Sea Caves Beach, Sugarloaf Cove, Lakeshore Trail in Cascade River State Park, and the Superior Hiking Trail’s Lake Walk.

Trudee, Mt. Baldy, Crystal Bay, Sea Caves, and some tips for winter hiking. Read through to the end of the post to learn about the 7 mile loop of Bear and Bean Lakes along the Superior Hiking Trail.

Planning a Trip to the North Shore

Planning a Trip to the North Shore

From Jay Cooke to Duluth and up to the Canadian Border, these are my favorite places to stop along Lake Superior’s North Shore of Minnesota off of MN-61. Included are favorite hikes at Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettegouche, Temperance River, Cascade, George Crosby Manitou, Judge Magney, Grand Portage, and the Superior Hiking Trail. See amazing waterfalls, sea caves, spend time on the beach, skip rocks, hike to incredible overlooks, and canoe through lakes clean enough to drink from.
